Liza Cooper: NICU Family Support Workshop

Liza is upfront with photos and slides explaining the program. Some of the special programs that are a part of the larger NICU FAmily SUpport project- which I think is in a few hospitals nationwide - and still a pilot program at this point. (can someone correct me on this?)

What I'm noticing now is the interaction that's happening between Liza and the group. Liza apparently is going to a Neonatal Nursing Seminar in a few weeks - and is asking for feedback from some of the personal experiences - information she can bring back to her conference.

With everyone looking back, tapping into those memories and emotions again. While I see how constructive this is - but I find myself reaching for the tissues yet again!
You all have gone through so much - you are incredible humna beings!!

Day 2: Scrapping

Last night was a late night. After the outouring of emotion from the Remembrace Ceremony, several of us headed to the bar. I think we all needed a drink and a few laughs to counterbalance the sadness.

Liza Cooper had us all rolling back with laughter - with her quirky sense of humor.
Judi Gooding wooed the waiter and chef into "whipping up" some late night munchies.

I wobbled back to my room. Michele locked Darcy out of the room?! (um, michele just what were you doing?) Somehow we all got back to our rooms - to grab a few needed hours of sleep.

SO - back to the title.
SCRAPPING.

I'm blown away by all the artwork you've created in your photobooks.
Being a designer - I was google-eyed over all the supplies sitting on the table!
Beautiful papers, stickers, different shaped scissors - COOOOOOOL!
I took a lot of photos - so I'll get them posted.

I'll end this post by saying that Darcy did an INCREDIBLE job on the scrapping seminar. I'm nota scrapbooking person. And believe it or not, I'm not great at documenting my life - After Darcy's speech - I'm reformed!

Catching Up: The Remembrance Ceremony

Wow.
For those of you who were not able to attend - you were ALL there in spirit.
There's so much play by play that I wish I could get in here. But my fear is I'll leave someone out. It was incredible.

There were poems written by some of Share members and read by other Share members. There was a moment of silence. Dr. Scott Berns shared some words with the group and his personal story - the story of his connection to the March of Dimes.

That room last night was so full of love and emotion. You could feel people connecting. People from all over - reaching out to each other.

And did I mention the video? Amy created such a lovely video with everyone's story and photo. She chose such lovely music to accompany the pictures and notes. There was such a silence in that room watching that piece, peppered with sniffles and silent sobs.

ahhh an internet Connection

So, I'm still not used to blogging an event.
But I can tell you an internet connection becomes like gold.
We're on the final hours of the second annual Share Reuniuon (or ShareUnion) and I've missed entering quite a few things.

But... I have been able to upload some of the photos from the Remebrance Ceremony which was simply beautiful - but emotionally exhausting

WHile I try to recount some of the events from yesterday - do take a browse through the flickr photos I was able to upload - to your right

The Pencils Look GREAT

Glassy eyed and a little flaky. I'm wondering if we should have opted for the hot pink with a white printing. Ahhh, live and learn. Here's a bit of a gripe though. I think these things should come pre-sharpened. Who has a sharpener these days??
It's not like anyone is coming to this conference with a plastic sharpener in their pocktes!

gripe aside - the lettering is really clear. I'm trying to place them in areas around the hotel working zones/lobby. There are A LOT of them.

Also took a photo of how the Pass It On dime looks like in the reg packet. Totally gets lost. Doesn't hold much clout. Maybe if I talk to people about it - we can create a bit of buzz/curiosity??

Any other thoughts on how to give this a boost in momentum?
